BULLS.

“CAPTAIN BLOOD” AT TOWN HALL TO-NIGHT. (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent.) “Captain Blood” is a picture that you will talk about, advise your friends to see, and go to see again and again yourself. It is rarely that a production comes to the screen with as many points of appeal. It is a thrilling, gripping, entrancing love story, constructed along lines peculiar to itself. It gives to audiences a touch of realism that fulfils the dreams and ambitions of the average person. Captain Peter Blood does these things that every red-blooded boy and man would like to do. He lives those scenes which have endeared the days of chivalry to fiction lovers. Arabella is the type of womanhood to which girls aspire and men admire. Jeremy Pitt is the bold, dashing youth with the courage of his convictions, who does, dares and keeps silent. Alary Traill is the type of womanhood that men fight for and love. Alarton Premier Orchestra will render the incidental music. BULLS TENNIS CLUB. On Labour Day the club had a dual engagement —the A team journeyed to Gonville and the B played Rongotea at Bulls. Unfavourable weather greeted the above clubs on Afonday for the opening of their greens. Up till mid-day a fairly steady rain had fallen. This was no doubt responsible for a number of expected visitors being absent. Air J. H. Perrctt, president of the Bowling Club, welcomed the visitors. On behalf of the Bowling Club he thanked the ladies for their splendid work in providing the men with afternoon tea. The two greens were then opened, Afrs J. H. Perrett throwing up the kitty, and Afrs H. Stevens driving off on the croquet lawn. A dainty afternoon tea was served and later the two clubs carried on with their respective games.
