A RIVER FATALITY
| FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY DROWNED. SAD OCCURRENCE AT ARAMOHO. Yesterday morning, Edward Malcolm Benbrook, aged four years, son of Mr C. G. Benbrook, storekeeper, of Aramoho, was drowned in the river. Accompanied by a companion of the same ■age, the boy was playing at the edge L f the bank, when his hat fell into the water. The unfortunate boy waded afI ter it and stepped off a ledge into deep water. The other boy ran home and told his parents that “Teddy is in tho river.” As soon as the police were notified of the accident five men were despatched to the scene, and dragging operations were commenced immediately. A number of people also assisted in the! search. Some time later the body was seen drifting near tho Aramoho wharf by Mr Albert Marks, a Harbour Board employee, and it was recovered.
