PAYNE DEFEATS PARKER A WILLING STRUGGLE. BOTH MEN REQUIRE SURGEON’S AID. Received Oct. 25, 5.5 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 25. At the Stadium, Tiger Payne (au American coloured fighter) outed Parker (New Zealander) in the thirteenth round. The going was hard and willing. Parker forced thefighting, and at close quarters had a decided advantage, but Payne used his right to great advantage!, thrico flooring the New Zealander. Parker in the last three rounds appeared to have his opponent beaten. Then a heavy swing downed Parker. When h<j rose he was again downed, and was still on the floor when the bell rang. After the fight, a doctor had to attend to both boxers. Parker had font stitches in wounds on the scalp and left eye and Payne had a couple in wounds on the right eye. TOURNAMENT AT GREYMOUTH MURRAY AND TBOWERN DRAW. [Per Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, Oct. 24. In a professional boxing contest, Les Murray 9.10 and Reg. Trowern 9.10 went the full fifteen rounds, providing a clean, even bout. Trowern used his left very effectively, while Murray was rather superior at in-fighting. The decision was a draw. In the preliminaries, Kiely beat Purton and Cotter beat Morresy.
