GREYMOUTH MEETING OPENS GREAT HOPE WINS FBEE-FOR-ALL [Per Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, Oct. 24. The Greymouth Trotting Club’s meeting opened to-day in fine weather. The attendance was large and the track good, despite recent rain. The tote handled £10,303, against £9817 10s last year. Results:— Introductory Handicap.—3 Logan King (Woodham)-1, 2 Master Bingana 2, 5 Wineberry 3. Length and a-half; seven lengths. Time: 3.42. Petrie Handicap.—3 Bridget Galindo (Forbes) 1, 9 Taipoiti 2, ’Frisco Beau 3. Five lengths; twelve lengths. Time: 3.15 4-5. Mawhera Handicap. —2 Bruce (Smith) 1, Binscarth 2, 3 Cardinal Logan 3. Three and a-half lengths; half a length. Time: 3.3 1-5. Royal Oak Handicap.—l Lady Fan (Walsh) 1, 7 Little Johnnie 2, 3 Bridget Galindo 3. Three lengths; six lengths. Time: 3.44 4-5. Blaketown Handicap.—2 William the Great (Frost) 1, 5 Dome 2, Albert Logan 3. Length and a-half; half a length. Time: 2.59 2-5. Diggers’ Handicap.—l Stadium (Butterfield) 1,2 Glide 2, 3 Locanda Chief 3. Six lengths; same. Time: 2.25 2-5. Free For A 11.—2 Great Hope (J. Bryce) 1, 1 Great Bingen 2, 1 Acron 3. Also: 3 Vilo, 2 Taurekareka. The winner led throughout, winning comfortably by a length and a-half. Acron was fifty yards away. Vilo started badly and Taurekareka pulled up in the last lap. Time: 3.19 1-5. Aviation Handicap.—2 Albert Logan (Price) 1, 5 Drone 2, 7 Young Ivy 3. Length and a-half; half a length. Time: 2.21.
