£40,000 FOR SERVANT
FINANCIER LEAVES FORTUNE TO WOMAN “DAILY HELP” TWO WILLS DRAMA. Over £40,000 has been left to his “daily-help”—the widow of a working man—by Mr George Parkin Cooley, o financier, of Mansfield-road, Nottingham. This is the total value of his estate. The lucky legatee is Mrs. Jane Holt, who lives in one of the poorer districts of the town. For years before Mr. Cooley’s dc>:b she wont each day to his house to cook and clean for him. Once, also, she acted as companion to him when he had to travel. Mr. Cooley’s eccentricities made him a well-known figure in Nottingham, lie had long curls and wore a curious type of hat and coat of must unusual cut. He is said to have made willslat different times. Not long before his death he had instructed a solicitor to draw up a last will which left the bulk of his money to charities. This will was never executed, and by the document now proved Mrs. Holt receives the whole of the estate. She states that she is to use part of the money to build herself a bungalow near her old employer’s home. She also hopes to travel about and sec some of the world, she said.
