HIS MAJESTY’S “LISTEN LESTER” AND FRANK DENNIE It is not the wealth or the heart of the roystering colonel that are of so much importance as the abundance of mirth that seems to stiare at you from every foot of film in “Lisbon, Lester,” which commences at the 'matinee at His Majesty’s to-day. (Scenarist, director, and cast have combined to turn this musical comedy into [one of the brightest gems of screen I humour that the silver sheet has known. The story involves a more or (less typical musical comedy plot—the 'trailing vlampire, the dodging millionjaire, the crooks tand the pursuit of the letters. Such things are partly familiar, but it is the way in which they arc evolved that brings the sparkle Ito the eyes. It is said that no fewer dhan fifty different methods are evoljved for the simple process of making Ja package of letters shift from one pair (Of hands to another. The scene changes almost fas rapidly as the icomedy, moving in one step from cosmopolitan New York to the tourist 'warmth of Florida. I SIGNOR PREBONI HANSEN ON MONDAY i Signor Preboni Hansen, the celebrated Danish singer will commence a short season at His Majesty’s Theatre on Monday in conjunction with the picture programme. Signor Preboni is court singer to the Danish Court and wu& released in order to undertake a world’s tour. He is a vigorous tpye of young man with a very captivating personality; the possessor of a tenor ■ voice of remarkable purity and range, and has an extensive repertoire of operatic songs. He also specialises in English ballards which he invests with simple charm and meaning.
