SUICIDE
NEW ZEALAND WOMAN’S DEATH. Received June 26, 8.40 p.m. SYDNEY, June 26. Mrs Audrey Tonks, a recent arrival from New Zealand, was found dead in a flat at Coogee. Her head was inside a stove and the gas turned on. It is also believed she had previously taken a strong dose of poison. She left a letter stating that her loneliness was unbearable. It is ascertained her husband went away last Thursday, while Mrs Tonks was out. He left her a note saying, “I will return in two days,” but he did not. Deceased was much depressed. •
