MATCHES IN ENGLAND LONDON, May 7As the result of heavy rain, the captains decided not to play till tomorrow in the match South Africa versus Derby. Hampshire made 119 (Hearne taking five wickets for 39 runs) against Middlesex (155 for four wickets). Cambridge University scored 121 against Sussex 106 for three wickets (Bowley 80 not out). Oxford University knocked up 142 against Lancashire’s 57 for the loss of one wicket. Yorkshire made 275 (Oldroyd 64) against Glamorgan 23 for two wickets. Bowling for Glamorgan, Mercer took four wickets for 58 runs. MARYLEBONEDECISIONS Received May 8, 9.15 p.m. LONDON, May 7. In accordance with a request by the New Zealand Cricket Council, the Marylebone Club extended to New Zealand the rules passed in Australia in 1922 in regard to an eight-ball over and rolling the wicket. Lord Ernie succeeds Lords Ullswater to the Presidency of the Marylebone Club.
