A Wanganui rink, consisting of Messrs Tabart, Milne, McNiven and Scott, successfully defended the Keesing Cup against Messrs Brown, Herd, Jack and Gordon, of the Rapanui Club. The game' was keenly and evenly contested throughout, and one point only separated the teams at the conclusion of the final head. The club finals were played on the Wanganui greens on Saturday, the results being as follows: — Gilmour, A. McFarlane, Snow and J. McFarlane (19), were defeated by Grinstone, Pauli, O’Meara and LloydScott (20). Coleman, Whiteford, Shewan and Bowater (12), doeat Brown, Stone, Milne and Atkinson (3). Davis, Allomes, Harie, and Inglis (15), lost to Doulls, Chainey, Gower,, and Toinkies (20). The shield competition resulted as follows:—Price, McNiven, McAneny and Crawford (Wanganui) 18, defeated G. Wilson, Anderson, Bates, and A. Wilson (Wanganui West) 13. Crammond, Hedditch, Flower and Pilly (Wanganui) 27. defeated Geen, Melville, Marsden and Jarrett, (Wanganui West) 17. Wanganui thus won on the two games with 15 points to spare. WANGANUI CLUB A The final game for the Centre Shield, between Gonville and Wanganui, will be played to-morrow (Saturday) on the Wanganui green. The following are the teams selected:-*— Warden, Bowater, Crawford, Flower. Price, Tabart, Scott, Tilley. Finals of the Full Rink Competitions, 1922-23, will be played definitely tomorrow. Teams.—Foreman, A. McFarlane, Gower, London, v. Haworth, Harrison, O’Meara, Foster. The green will be closed from to-mor-row. WANGANUI WEST CLUB All members are requested to turn up on the green on Saturday to finish off the club competitions. It is desired to get all the games finished this week-end, and any player interested must be prepared to play his game or forfeit. WANGANUI EAST CLUB Next Saturday will be the last day of play for the season. All members are requested to attend to take part in the closing cerentony. The finals in the “B” singles will be played, viz., Darbyshire v. Stewart, and Roberts v. Rush. The winners are to then play off to decide the winner for the season. The full rinks, played und rt r the new system, were concluded last Saturday, the winners being A. Willis, R. B. Horsley Junr., H. Stc#art, E. Scrivener.
