CLEARING SALE. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having had a very successful clearing sale at Marton on 22nd inst., on account Mr Henry Stewaxt. Buyers were present from all parts of the district and everything was disposed of at satisfactory prices. We quote: Aged ewes 14/6; empty cows £2; 18months and weaner heifers £2/6/-; Jersey bull £5/17/6; draught horses £2O, £26, £44, to £4B; light horses £B/10/ to £l3. Implements, harness and sundries sold well. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a very fair entry of sheep and cattle at their Bulls sale on Monday the 24th inst. There was a very fair demand and with the exception of one small pen of cattle every line changed hands. Quotations: Fat ewes 22/-; extra prime heavy fat lambs 32/6, 33/6; b.f. rape lambs 20/10; small b.f. lambs 15/6; m.a. ewes in Jamb 18/2, to 20/4; empty cows 28/-; bulls £2; 2-year off steers £4/6/-; fat cows £5/0/6; store pigs 21/-. MARTON YARDS. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a very good yarding of sheep and a small entry of pigs and cattle at their Marton yards on Tuesday 25th inst. There was a keen enquiry for lambs, and ewes also sold well: We quote: Rape lambs, 18s Id, 19s Id, 21s 6d to 22s 6d; store lambs, 14s 4d, 14s 7d, 16s 7d to 17s Id; b.f e lambs, 14s Id to 17s 2d; cull lambs, 6s Id to 10s 2d; 4 and 6-tooth Romney ewes, 31s; 4 and 5-ycar Romney ewes, 24s 3d to 25s 3d; s.m. ewes to 17s 3d; failing mouth ewes, Ils 8d to 12s 6d; weaner pigs, 12s to 15s; slips, 20s to 225. Cattle sold at late rates.
