(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 26. Addington market yardings in most classes of stock were small to-day, and there was a firm market in most cases. Store Sheep.—A large entry, though somewhat smaller than last week There was a heavy glut of old ewes, the yarding being a poor quality oils. Good class ewes sold about the same as last week, with forward lambs ana wethers a shade better. Old stuff was hard to selh Some of the sheep from' the north and Marlborough were In very low condition. Extra good 2-tooth halfbred ewes sold at 50s; ordinary half bred 2-tooth ewes, 32s to 36s 6J; good 2-tooth three-quarterbred ewes, 31s to* 355; low conditioned North Island 4,6, and 8-tooth ewes, 22s to 25s 6d; good 4,6, and 8-tooth half bred ewes, 35s to 37s 6d; good 4,6, 8-tooth Romney cross ewes, 28s 6d to 32s 6d; lower conditioned 4,6, and 8-tooth ewes, 21s fid to 2fis; good forward lambs, 21s fid to 24s lOd; ordinary, 17s 6d to 20s fid; medium, 15s to 17s; small inferior lambs, Ils to 14s 6d; good three-quarterbred ewe lambs, 275; inferior halfbred ewe lambs, 19s 6d; good 2 and 4-tooth three-quarterbred wethers, 30s to 32s 3d; 4 and 6-tooth half bred wethers, 26s to 28s 6d; 2-tooth halfbred wethers, 18s 9d to 21s. Fat Lambs.—A slightly firmer sale. Extra prime lambs sold at 35s to 37s 6d; a few special, 40s fid; prime, 31s to 345; medium, 27s to 30s fid; light, 23s to 26s 6d.
Fat Sheep—A small entry and an improved sale for medium good ewes, of which the yarding was principally composed. Best wethers made full 7d per lb; best ewes, 6d;, medium wether, 6|d, and ewe, sid. Extra prime wethers, 40s; few special, 42s 6d; prime, 34s to 38s; medium, 30s to 33s 6d; ininferior, 25s to 295; extra prime ewes, 365; few special lots, 395; prime ewes, 27s 6d to 31s 6d; medium, 24s to 275; light, 20s 6d to 23s 6d; aged, 16s to 20s. ~
Fat Cattle.I—A 1 —A large yarding of 500 head, and a weakening in prices of 20s per head. Some special beef made to 37s per lOOlbs. Prime, 31s to 335; medium, 27s to 30s 6d; inferior, 22s 6d to 26s 6d; rough, to 15s; extra prime steers, £l6 to £lB 12s 6d; prime, £ll 10s to £l4 10s; medium, £9 to £ll ss; light, £5 10s to £9 15s; extra prime heifers, £lO 7s 6d; prime, £7 5s to £9 ss; ordinary £4 to £7; extra prime cows, £ll ss; prime, £6 5s tod £8 15s; ordinary, £. 15s to £6.
Vealers.—Small entry; prices better than last week. Runners, £5 17s 6d; vealers, £3 5s to £4; good calves, £1 15s to £3; small, 10s to £1 ss. Store Cattle. —Fair sizes and entry mostly cows; slack sale. Three-year steers, £2 ss; 18-month heifers, £2 10s; fresh cows, £2 ss. Dairy Cattle.'—The entry totalaled 67: demand good. Good second and third calves, £8 to £ll 15s; best heifers, £6 to £9 15s; medium, £3 to £5 15s; heifers just calved, £6 to £9; cows in milk, £1 10s to £3. Fat Pigs.—Large entry; demand not so keen and prices easier. Choppers, £2 to £5; light baconers, £3 7s to £3 15s; heavy, £4 to £4 15s; extra heavy, £5; average price per lb, 6d to 6sdj light porkers, 38s to 455; heavy, £5; average price per lb, 6d to light porkers, 38s to 455; heavy, 50s to 60s; average price per lb, 6d to 7d. Store Pigs.—Large entry and slack" demand for weaners and small stores. Weaners, 3s to 10s; extra good, to 15s; small stores, 16s to 19s; medium, 25s to 325; large, 52s 6d.
