POETESS UTTERS WARNING. CAPETOWN, March 24. A considerable sensation has been caused by the speeches of Mrs. Naida, an India poetess, and the climax was reached when she was addressing an audience of 8000 or 9000, mainly Mohammedans, with a few Hindus and Sikhs, in the Urdu language- Mrs Naida, referring to the fact that the Cape was exempted from the Class Areas Bill, warned General Smuts that, by this bribe, he would not catch an Indian vote in the Cape. They would accept no such bribe while their brethren in the Transvaal and Natal continued to be oppressedShe also complained of the lack of educational facilities for Indians in South Africa.
