CENTRAL EUROPE
CROATS AND SERBIA
OATH OF ALLEGIANCE TAKEN.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Copyright. Received March 25, 10.45 p.m. BELGRADE, March 25. Sixty-eight members of the Croatian Peasant Republican party arrived at Belgrade and took the oath of loyalty to King Alexander and the Skupstina, thus recognising the union with Yugoslavia for the first time. Parchitsh’s government is now faced - with an opposition of overwhelming strength, so he handed in his resignation to King Alexander. It is expected that Davidovitch, the leader of the Democratic party, will be the new Premier. He has 163 supporters, compared with 127 of Parchitch. The Croats, who are the strongest party in the Skupstina, favour a federal organisation state in preference to the present central government.
