ABRAHAM AND WILLIAMS, LID. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on Flock House sale:—First day.—L. R. McKelvie’s dairy cattle: There was a good attendance of the public and bidding was brisk for best cows. We quote. 53 Holstein and Holstein cross cows from £5 to £l6 10s, average £9 8s; 40 Jersey and S.H. cross cows from £6 10s to £l4 10s, average £9 6s; 31 Holstein weaner heifers from £3 4s to £6 10s; heifers from £6 10s to £l3 13s, average, £ll 16s. Pedigree cattle: Bulls, 25gns to lOOgns; cows, 15gns, 25gns, 36gns to 61gns; heifer calf, lOgns. Three h.p. Lister engine, £77; Alfa Laval 80 gai. separator. £25; three-cow plant with pulley, belting, etc., £3O. Second day : The attendance was not so large as the first day, but competition was good for any cows showing good quality. We quote: 100 Jersey S.H. and Holstein cross cows from £5 to £1 7, averaging £8 7s 6d; 16 Jersey heifers in calf (very small) £6 to £8 10s, others £5 5s to £6; cows in milk, £6 to £9 15s. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report at the Hunterville yards on the 15th inst., a fair yarding of sheep and cattle. Sheep met with a ready sale at late race, but cattle were hard to quit. We quote: Fat wethers to 30s; M.S. aged ewes 255, 2Ss to 295. 7d; ILW.IL m.s. lambs 14s 6d. 14s Sd, to 15s 9d; empty cows £2 to £3 ss.
Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a good yarding of sheep at. the Taihape yards on the 16th inst. ; There was a large attendance of buy ers and we quitted the whole of our yarding at the following prices: Two-tooth wethers to 23s 9d: m.s. aged ewes 23s 6d, 24s 6d to 255, R.W.R. empty ewes to 16s 6d; m.s lambs Tss, 15s 3d, to 16s 3d: cull do. 6s id. to 8s; draught horses £25 10s, £27 10s, £33 to £39; drays to £l6; ploughs to £6 10s. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., 1 eport on Feilding sale held on 18th inst. A small yarding of all classes of stock came forward Sheep met with a rendy sale, every pen being disposed ut. Cattle sold at late rates. We quote: Fat ewes, 21s 7d. 225, to 25s Id; fat ’wethers. 30s 7d: f. and f. wethers, 29s 4d; empty ewes, 18s 10d; owe lambs, 20s 6d; wether lambs. 17s 4d. Springing cows, £3 2.s 6d. £4 10s, £6, to £7 10s: springing heifers, £3; weaner heifers. £2 Is. £3 10s. to £4 12s Gd ; store cows, £1 12s, £1 18s, £2; fat cows. £2 15s to £2 l‘7s Gd; fat bullocks, £6 to £6 3s. DALGETY AND CO.. LTD. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a lair entry of sheep and a medium yarding of cattle at their Feilding sale on Friday, the 18th inst.. when there was keen competition for good lambs. Quotations : Fat ewes, 20s to 225; small lambs, 12s 2d; m.s. lambs, 16s, 16s 7d, to 19s 6'l; extra good wether lambs, 225; m.a. ewes, in lamb, 18s 3d, empty ewes, 13s 6d to 14s 3d; dairy cows, £6 10s; springing heifers, £5; small weaner heifers, 20s; good weaner heifers, £2 17s 6d. The same firm, at Palmerston North, report having a fair yarding at their Mangaweka sale on Thursday, the 17th inst. Quotations: —Light f. and f. wethers. 28s lOd; m.a. ewes in lamb. 19s 3d to 20s 10d; cull wethers, 19s; cull ewes, <Bs. A line of 390 2-tooth wethers realised 28s; weaner steers, 28s; fat cows, £5: heifer at drop. £lO. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having a small entry of stock at their Hunterville sale on Tuesday, 15th inst., which sold as below: Five-year i.l. S.D. ranis 24s lOd; m.a. ewes i.l. Romney rams, 26s 2d; fat sheep, 26s 6d; mixed b,f, lambs Ils 3d; dairy cows £5. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report. At our Pvongotea sale on Thursday we had a modern entry to offer to a small attendance of buyers. We cleared the yarding under the hammer at prices in favour of purchasers. Weaner heifers, £2 Is; weaner steers, 18s 6d; fat cows, £3, £3 4s, £3 6s to £3 12s; forward cows, 325, 355, 38s, to £2 2s; store cows 18s 6d to 28s; dairy cows, best, £9 ss: others, £2 10s to £4 10s; heifers just calved. £4 15s to £6 ss: heifers in milk, £2 2s to £2 10s; bulls 20s to 40s.
