DESTRUCTION OF CATHOLIC INSTITUTIONS
QUEBEC INSURANCE COMPANIES TAKE ACTION. Received April 13, 8.30 p.m. OTTAWA, April 12. Owing to the large number of fires in Catholic institutions in the Quebec province, fire insurance comhave conceiied ail policies updn these, and instituted new rates amounting to 35 to 40 per cent increase in premium. Furthermore, insurance will be granted to such institutions hereafter only if the companies are satisfied that the buildings present good risks, naturally, irrespective of the possibilities >f incendiarism.
