AMALGAMATION OF CLUB INTERESTS. An important meeting of the Wanganui and Central Clubs was held on Monday evening to consider the question of amalgamation, in view of the fact that both clubs use the same baths (municipal), same club room, etc., arid that the consolidation of interests would tend to the making of a very strong organisation. The president of the Centre was voted to the chair after a general discussion Mr P. Dickson summed up the [feeling of the meeting when he moved that the Wanganui and Central Amateur Swimming Clubs unite their interests, and that the name of the club be “United.” Mr Eric Forlong seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously. The election of officers for the balance of the season then took place, Mr F. Turnbull being elected president, Mr Peter Dickson club captain, Mr. V. Reid vice-captain, Mr E. Crotty secretary and treasurer. Messrs Dickson, Trott and N. Reid delegates to the Centre. The coldhrs adopted were blue and gold.
