ECONOMIC CHANGES HANDS. PURCHASED BY D.I.C. (Per Press Asociation.) WELLINGTON, January 30. Th completion of the largest transaction in the history of the drapery trade in New Zealand is announced. The Directors of the Drapery and General Importing Co. of N.Z. Ltd., have signed a contract to purchase the entire holding of present shareholders of the well-known drapery firm of George and Kersiey, Ltd., of Wellington and Wanganui. The premises of the firm of George and Kersiey in Wellington have an important frontage to Lambtcu Quay and adjoin the premises of the D.1.C., which have frontages to Panama Street and Brandon Street. It is understood the settlement, which is to be made on a prompt cash basis, will run well into six figures.
