The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company has received a cable from its London office intimating that the company will hold its annual meeting in London on the 18th inst. After carrying .£25,0p0 to tha general reserve acconnt. writinc; £1.0,000 off premises, appropriating £10,000 to the staff benevolont fund, and the payment of an interim dividend on preference and ordinary storrk, directors recommend the payment of a. uual dividend of 2\ per cent, /rnftkinsr 5 per cent, for the year) on prefei'fnce stock, and a final payment of 3-ir per cent, and a bonus of 2 per cent, -junkim: S per rent, for the year) on ordinary sto?k. also a 2} per cent, dividend on preference, aud 3J per cent, dividouj and 2 uer cent, bonus on ordinary new issne^ stocks, all less Fnrvli°h income tax. This leaves .£56,745 17s fid to he carried forward. The reservo fimd now stands at £575.{M}0.
