At the opening of the Chamber, the King said lie favoured greater participation by the Labour Party in the councils <>f the nation. He had.an enthusiastic reception in the streets, where several Socialist leaders were mobbed, and rescued by the police. During the' riots several were killed in the streets. There is a grave situation in other cities.
