BULLS NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) I again have to record the death of h well-known and respected old resident of Bulls, in the person of Mr Charles Hinkley. He was born a_t Cranbrooke, Kent, in 1841, and landed in New Zealand 45 years ago, and came up to Bulls, where he had resided ever since. He died in the Wanganui Hospital, where ho was well looked after, aud his family cannot speak too highly of the way in which the hospital staff attended to him. He is survived by four daughters and three soils, viz., Mrs G. F. Ingram (Bulls), Mrs R. T. Sanson (Sanson\ Mrs C. Ellery (Rongotea), Mrs A. McGregor fParewanui), Mr C. H. Hinkley (Pemberton), Mr U. J. Hinkley (New Plymouth), and Mr G- J. L. Hinkl?Y {Bulls). The deceased wa« buried in the cemetery at Bulls on Monday. There was a motor accident when cars were coming back from the Feilding races on Monday night. A man »yas run into by a car as he was crossing the road from one car, from which be van borrowing a tyro pump. Two cars had stopped nearly opposite each other, leaving" a track between. All I can ascertain is that one of the ears which had stopped was a car from Bulls, and ■that the man who was iun over had a, leg badly broken. I note that two of the members of our Tennis Club, Messrs Ralfe and Fountain, were at the Wanganui tennis tournament, and though defeated, were not disgraced. .The Awahuri Tennic Club should have played Bulls on Friday, but they did not arrive, so the local players had to have a match amongst ihemselves. They had a most enjoyable day, and the tea'dispensed by the ladies was much appreciated by all.
