TAIHAPE.
A dwelling recently occupied by Mr Mullmger, at the top end of Ellis Hoad, has been destroyed by fire. The cottage was outside the water area and the fire brigade devoted all their energies to saving the adjoining building and the shed at the back which they succeeded in doing by means of an improvised bucket brigade and wet blankets. Ma- Mullinger had a close call, just escaping with what he stood up in.
