BAND RECITAL.

Taking the weather conditions into consideration, there was an exceptionally g°od " house" to hear the- Queen Alexandra Band give another of their popular, recitals last evening. The band items were particularly well rendered, and showed intelligent interpretation and colouring. Mrs. Peter Lewis was

heard to advantage in " Thanksgiving" and "The Folk's Song," being . very well received iv both items. Mr Addison L. Pinard was also very successful with "The Voice of the Storm" and "Like as the Hart," the latter suiting the vocalist particularly well. In response to a double encore, his final

number was the "Marseillaise," and, needless to say; this item was again well received. Mrs Suisted had charge of the collection. Miss Ruby Curran acted as accompanist in her usual finished style, and contributed largely to the success of the vooal numbers.
