MARY PICKFORD IN "THE FOUNDLING."

AT HIS MAJESTY'S TO-NIGHT

'To-night at His Majesty's Theatre, Mary Pickfbrd will be seen in the role in which everyone loves her, in "The Foundling," the Famous Players' masterpiece. She is a waif who has been left by her father, whose heart was hardened at the thought that the little on e caused the death of his beloved wife. Mary is seen soon as one of the inmates of an orrifenage, where she retains her bright wmsomehess in spite of the drab and desolate surroundings. Then she is sent out to be "adopted." She trusts that her foster-mother will, of course, he kindly natured,* and gets a, cruel and chilly surprise.^ Then Mary in turn adopts a homeless terrier, and the'two become fast and devoted chums. The sudden turn in the story arrives when the father comes back, and is deceived as to the identity of his daughter. Strong action quickly develops, and the little waif comes upon a desperate burglary, and becomes entangled in suspicion of aiding the criminals. All comes right-in the end, and the heroine finds a pair of loving ar-ms and happiness. The whole play is a tynical "Mary Pickford"'best, "and it will be long "remembered. The supporting pictures are the Pathe Gazette, and a rattling L.K.O. comedy, entitled "Spike's Busy Life."
