Buller Avon the toss and commenced by forcing strongly. In A tussle in front of the goal Miss Greenstreet shot Buller's first goal after about five minutes' play. Buller were very strong, and the play was for some time in the Taranaki circle. Taranaki were playing well, however. Buller now forced again, and Miss Cox made the second score. Taranaki now commenced a good passing rush but were stopped before they became dangerous. Play row changed and a 2-5 was obtained. From this Buller attacked vigorously, and a fine, save from Miss Arthur just saved the situation. Taranaki now forced, but Buller took the ball the length of the field and Miss Mcßay scored their third goal. A hard tussle then followed in front of the Taranaki goal. The situation was saved, however, and Tamnaki pushed hard tro to Buller's goal. Miss E. King shot,"but it went wide. The play was now getting more even. Taranaki was elowly pressing up the field, putting Buller on the defensive. Miss McEwen. who had recovered sufficiently to play, headed a fine rush un the field, but the Buller goalkeeper rushed out and beat her. Taranaki forced from the bullyoff, but Buller soon .retaliated and Miss Arthur was just able to save a magnfficent effort. BullVv were evMesnflty too good for them, but the froth hadn't gone off their attack yet. Again they rushed, but Miss Wilson in goal saved well. The play was now up and down, but Buller still had rather the better of it. Taranaki forced, however, and right on the goajl-mouth was just saved by Miss Arthur. The Tara^aki team can congratulate themselves that they have sneh an excellent goalkeeper, otherwise the score would have been much greater. Miss Arthur could not be kept out of the position of keeper of the net in the North Island team.
