GARDEN FETE.

The Fete committee are fortunate in obtaining the services of Professor Redigisto for the hypnotic exhibition, and his introductory papers to the. committee gave him great praise as one of the most clever men of the day in the art. Last night he gave a private demonstration with fresh to the committee, and kept everyone" in roars of -laughter and amazement for an hour." The Professor is on, his way to Auckland, but /vill return before the Fete. The financial returns to the Fete and the fun produced should be beneficial to all concerned. Many mothers are bathing their babies in milk —it's a grand thine for the "dairymen. The judges—Dr. Dunn and Nurse Lynn—will be very busy. .The committee could not haw selected more cap--able judges. The grotesque heads will be a sight that will never be forgotten. The giant is nine feet high. The rooster is almost as big as a horse, and is a beautiful bird. The heads of the quaint men and animals will amuse young and old. The produce stall will accept anything from a parsnip to a cow for sale. "^Vegetables, eggs, cakes will be acceptable from the farmers.

Miss Cruickshank, who will ibe away New Year's Day, has donated half a sovereign to the funds. Mr. Neame will./also be away, and is giving a like amount. If everyone who 'has stated he will be away January Ist, when asked to help\ would give ten shillings, there would be no need to have a Fete at all. See the programme in to-day's paper. Most of the competitions are advertised.,

Buy your ticket early. It admits to the Fete and possibly may get you a free trip to Sydney and Melbourne. No .tickets \will bo sold the day of the /Fete.
