"The New Magazine" for November, 6d., is before us. The art supplement with pictures of the "Play of the Month" is as good as ever. The stories—by Jacques Futrelle (the "Thinking Machine), Grenville Hammerton, Captain Shaw. Randolph Lichfleld, Andrew Soutar and others, -are of the intensely thrilling order, and are all pieces of fine writing. There is a long complete tx&Yel in the number entitled "The Thrall of Gold," by Anthony Sutherland. The "Woman's Kingdom," containing, as it does, " Hints for the Dressmaker and Suggestions as to Fashions," cookery iten >- dainty neckwear illustrations, etc., etc.. makes this magazine particularly acceptable to the fair sex. Whether men or women readers take this magazine, they will fin<f plenty of special interest in it, and will consider it wonderfully clieap for the nimble sixpence. It is on sale at all 'booksellers.
