FIRE AT WAVERLEY.
The premises in Main Street, WavJrley, owned; by Mr. Blake, and occupied by Mr. Jacobsen, tinsmith, were totally destroyed by fire at 1 o'clock yesterday morning.
Mr. C. Oliver, who lives opposite, was awakened by the fire-, and the alarm was immediately given, but by that time the front portion of the building was a mass of flame, and the saving of any portion of the stock' of building was an impossibility. The same pre,ini.scs became mysteriously ignited about "a irionth ago, but on that occasion tho lire "was subdued. The cause of the preso)rt fire is a mystery. The premises were left at 7-20 p.m. on Monday, everything being then apparently safe. Mr. Jacobsen's insurance on stock and tools is £200, but Mr. Blake suffers a tota loss, the building being uninsured.
