FEILDING ASSOCIATION

The Feilding Association held almost enthusiastic meeting in connection wjth the forthcoming Show, when all the stewards were appointed. Mr. J. H. Perrett was appointed steward to supervise the freezing of export sheep in Wellington, and it was resolved to ask the Wellington Export Co. to do the freezing.

The secretary read a lengthy list of donations, and reported that the total amount promised to date was £378 15s. 6d.

Mr. W. Reid said that of all the towns he had been in Feilding was the most loyal and liberal to its Association, and for that the committee should be most grateful. A motion thanking donora was carried unanimously. Quite a host of new-members were elected.

Matters in connection "with the forthcoming Show are in a very forward condition, and never in the history of the Association has there been so much enthusiasm in connection with a show, or so much motive power 'behind it, as at present. With such a president as Mr. E. Short, and a secretary like Mr. E. H. Fisher, and the great committee of workers that fill up the official ranks, tho Show must advance. This great February exhibition is now regarded by authorities as unquestionably the best fat stock in the Dominion. This is the opinion on past Shows, and yet fine and all as they have been, they are going to be completely eclipsed by the next Show. Both North and South Islands are to be well represented. Feilding Lyceum Company, Ltd., has been registered. The "Mercantile Gazette" states that the capital is £1400, in £1 shares. Haywards' Pictures En^ terprises, Ltd., has 200 shares in the venture. It in proposed to carry •on the business of a picture theatre. Other shareholders are O. N. Gillespie. W. L. Fitzherbert, 200 each; H R. Woon. 250; R. Richardson. H. G. Logic. W. R. Prior, H. .T. McManaway. C. N. Cotterill, and F. D. Clayton, 100 each.
