MARTON AND FEILDING

MARTON, December 14

Both Marton and Feilding Agricultural and Pastoral Associations met last night. At Marton Mr. E. Newman. M.P., wrote acde^>ting Ithe office of patron; Mr. W. J. Birch.that of president, and Mr. Aldworth that of vicepresident.

Mr. R. E. Beckett wrote stating that as he was chairman of the Marton Jockey Club he considered it best not to accept any office with the A 4 arid P. in order that he might be-entirely free to act for the club. He offered to do all he could for the Association, and he forwarded £2 2s. donation as an earnest of his goodwill. The offer of the services of the Marton Junction Band for the Show was accepted with thanks.

Mr. 11. B. Kilgour was appointed secretary. Mr. J. Hannan.was added to the general committee, and Mr. P. Sinclair to the executive council.

Mrs. W. Kirkwood, of Wanganui, offerred painting valued at £3 3s. for the test pound cake, plum, pudding, or in any other way the committee deemed best. The offer was accepted with thanks, and it was decided that the trophy be given for most pofnfs in home industries.

The question of a ram fair was discussed, and it was decided that a fair be held on the day "following the Show.
