The report of the Orient Steamship Company shows profits £232,090. A dividend of 5 per cent, on deferred capital was reooiamended, £55,000 >wias a Hotted .to repaiiTSfand renewals, £50,000 was added to the^general reserve, and £53,215 iwas carried forward.
Tt is praposed^tp form an Orient-^n-dernvriting Company with a capital of £100,000, whereof £57,912-will Ibe offerer to def ero-ed shai-ehaiders '. The scheme obviates merging 'the underwriting account in the general assets.
