The Federal authorities have, discovered a Smuggling conspiracy iwhich has allegedly .been in operation for years, iwherefhy a million dollars' worth! of 'ladies' dresses were introduced without payment of customs duty, through Canada.
Mrs Hailrern was arrested for smuggling gowns by declaring that they were for her awn use.'
