KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION.
THE DUNEDIN CONFERENCE
(Per Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, October 29
At a conference of Kindergarten Associations to-day, a letter was received from the Hon. J. Allen, who'expressed ho opinion that, tho proposal to come be-foro the conference to the effect that the ago of children attending the public schools br> raised to six years could not bo carried out in its entirety. It would mean in country districts, where there wero no kindergartens, that children would bo debarred from attending the school till they were six. Tho alterations proposed in training the children in physical drill and health exercises in public schools would be an advantage, even at five years. After discussion, it was decided to expunge tho proposal referred to from tho order paper. A motion was carried to the effect that it was desirable to take immediate stens to federate, within certain limits, the four associations in tho Dominion.
