Art •and technical work was judgec by Mr L. J. Watkin, art instructor foi the Wanunuui Board of Education. Ii •is neediciss to say that he gave everj satisfaction. The collection was not up to that of last year. Owing to Wellington people having an art exhibition of tneir own, no entries came from the capital city this year, which is deeply regretted. Modelling and metal work were poorly represented. Competition was not keen in design work, either. Miss 1. M. Copeland, of Wanganui, secured second for head'from life, white the same 3"oung lady was awarded second for head from cast. In the ornaments from cast, Miss M Sutherland, of Wanganui, had a- meritorious win. In the day students' drawings, etc., section, lan McKenzie, of \Vanga-nui secured 'second award, and in modelled design Miss C. Co-nder, of Wanganui, captured first award. In the design section, Mias M. Fowler, of VVanganui, secured first for pLant in colour; Miss 1. M. Copeland iirst for stencillins, Miss L. Balziel first and Mi&s b. Cullinan second foi liatlier embossing; I rank Tarrant, ol the Wanganui Technical School, obtair..?.i iir..- for 'the bast [exhibit oi beaten cooper with or without enamels.
