MELBOURNE, October 2
The additional Federal Estimates necessitated the non-authorisin,g of the loan total! by £257,000. The greater portion will be expended on. Postal Department works. To make up the amount the sums proposed to be returned to the various States will be reduced, New South Wales by £109,000, Victoria) £40,000, Queensland £55,000, and the other States to a lesser extent.
