COPT OF REPLY .

To Mr William Gadsby Probeit.-Dear Sir —The Wesloyan Conference recently held in thiß city directed its letter-writer to convey to you resolution re your petition. As, however, I. find no Eiioh letter copied into the lutter-book, it would seem as if he had neglected to do so, in which case I regret the delay. The Conference appointed a Committee to carefully inquire into the circumstances and consult the Trustee*, and endorsed its finding— viz., lint there are no reasons why the Conference should interfere with the directions of the testator, and that to grant the requests of the peW wner would be to frustrate those intentions. Moreover, the Conference is only a trustee to carry out the testator's wishes, and could not logally do whnt tho petitioner asks,— I am, dear sir, yours respectfully, William Lee, Secretary to Hip Conference. Auckland, April 16th, 1891.
