FIRST DAY. (By Our Special Reporter.) The weather was splendid yesterday for the first day's racing of the Feilding Jockey Club. There was a good attendance, and the arrangements were well carried out. Eesults :— Fltino Handicap, 6 furlongs. Chatterbox 1 Magazine 2 Goodwood 3 Magazine got away with two lengths' start with Chatterbox hard after her. At the entrance to the straight Chatterbox got ahead and won by a length: Timo, lmin 20sec. Dividend, £Z 9s. Fip.st Handicap Huiidles, a miles and a distance. Oakknds 1 Pill 2 Unity 3 To an even start Unity took the lead, and at the back of the course they were all together. At the turn Oaklands forged ahead and won by a length. Time, 4miu 17seo. Dividend, £i. Fibst Handicap Hack Hurdle 3, 1J miles. Lonely 1 Tenby 2 Entry 3 Entry lad off and kept the lead until the straight where Lonely and Tenby tickled him, Lonely winning under the whip by about a length. Tims, 2min 55 4-sth Bee. Dividend, £4 18 a: Feh,din(j Handicap, 1J miles Pinrose « 1 Krina 2 Cordelia 8
Liberator, King John. Pill, and Sun« beam also ran. Cordelia jumped off the mark firetand led the field all the way to the top turn when Krina and Finrosa | forged up, the latter eventually winning 1 1 comfortably by fonr lengths.
