MANAWDATU AMATEUR ATHLETIC SPOERS.
1 (By Our Special Rbporteb.) The annual sports meeting in connection with the above Club was held on the i Show Grounds yesteiduy in the presence , of about 1000 spectators. One the whole i the races were exceedingly well contested, and in nearly every race the finishes were close. The success of the representatives • ' of the Wan canui Club was beyond all expectations, and they succeeded in recording eight flr=t3 and four seconds. ; Holder was in splendid form, and in the ! opinion of all won the final heat of the 100 yards, but the judges thought differently, and awarded the race to King. , Kingsley jumped splendidly, and put up ! the record for pole jumping, his win being a most popular one.
