BY KLEOTRIC TELEaBAPH— COPYRIGHT (BEtrTE3S'S TBLBGBAMSiI (Received December 30, 9.30 p.m.) Paris, December 29 Lord Lytton, the nfiwly-appointed British Ambassador, had an audience with the President toaday. In presenting bis credentials, Lord Lytton made a most cordial speech, in the course of whioh he stated that Her Majesty Queen Victoria desired to spare nothing to maintain the good relations at present between the two oountries. The President, M. Sudi Carnot, replied in the same spirit, and asserted that the friend* ship of England and France was the best guarantee of the peace, liberty, and progress of both cations.
