December 28 ' -Mv John Anderson, the General Traffic Manager for the Victorian jßailWays, died to«day. The robbery of cancelled notes from the Bunk of Australasia is still/unexplained, no due having been obtained as to' the perpetrator of the theft. : Up to' the present eleven one-pound notes have been detected in cirouJation in« sufficiently defaced, The number of notes missing is still unascertained.

■ December 29 i Sir Robert Dalrymple Bobs, ILB., the late Speaker of the Legislative As* seuably, was accorded a public funeral to-day. The cortege started from the Houses of Parliament, the procession including his Excellency Sir William Etobinson, the officials and members of both/ Houses of the Legislature, the Aldbrmen and Councillors of the city of Adelaide, and representatives from the various public bodies. The service was conducted by Bishop Kennion. Flags were hoisted at half-mast, and the shops along the route were closed. All the Government offices were olosed to-day 'out of respect for the deceased.
