ARMED FORCES BILL.

The Armed Forces Bill which th Defence Minister intends to introduc this session will, besides consolidatinj all existing acts relating to Arme< Constabulary, Volunteers, and Militia make provision for altering the constitu tion of the Militia as follows :— The firs class will comprise unmarried men be twe<m the age of 18 and 30 ; the seoon< class unmarried men from 30 to 40, an< married men from 17 to 30 ; the thin class will include unmarried men fron 40 to 55, and married men from 30 ti 55 ; all above are exempt. Mr Ballanci also intends to coasolidate all acts relat ing to civil police, and the designate of these officials is to be changed t< Armed Constabulary. The members o the Torpedo Artillery and Artned Con stabulary will in futuro be known as th< Permanent Militia force.
