VILLAGE SPECIAL SETTLEMENTS.
»M (PEB UNITED PRESS ASSOCIA.iIOir.) Wellington, May 6. Begulafcions for the formation of village special settlements on perpetual leasing have been gazetted. The land to be selected shall be held on perpetual lease for the first term of 30 years, and for a subsequent term of 21 yeavs, without any right of acquiring freehold. The rental is based on the capital value of the land, and in no case is to be less than 20s per acre, and no greater area than 20 aores will be allotted to any one applicant. Arrangements will be made for advancing small sums to assist selectors. The annual rent will be .5 per cent, on capital value, together with 5 per cent, on moneys advanced.
