February 17. The Coal Company's meeting was lively. Mr G. Joaohinx was in the chair, mad moved the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, to which an amendment was proposed that they adjourn on the grouud that the report and bal-ance-sheet did not disclose the true state of affairs. Mr Pope, who represented several Adelaide shareholders, asked several questions,which the chairman refused to answer. In answer to other questions, he said the cost of coal sdougside the ship was 10s 9d, and the selling price 10a 114. The report was eventually adopted. The Premier and Mr Ballance will probably leave for Wellington on Mon* day, while Mr Larnach wul visit Mare* whenua goldfiaid. Mr Ballanoe speaks at Lawrence to-morrow.
