February 17. Mr Walker addressed his constituents last nighfc, and intimated Ms iatention of being a candidate for Ashburton at the next election. DUNEDIN. February 17. The Registrar to-day adjudicated Ooleman Burke a bankrupted declined to proceed further with taking the accounts in the equity suit. The weather being very wet, there was no work of any importance at the Forbury track this morning. Malinger was soratohsd for the Eailway Plate at I 9 o'clock this morning. Great interest was taken in the licensing election for the city to-day, which resulted in the return of the moderate ticket, the 'licensed victuallers and the bottle license holders thus returning the whole of their candidates. Mayor Barnes was among the defeated.
