JUNO DRAMATIC COMPANY.

Tho attendance at the Princess Theatre last night was not nearly so good as the merits of the piece and the performers warranted, and yet it was a Scotoh drama, and under the patronage of the Caledonian Society. Fault cannot be found with the company ; their oastas are always strong, they play nothing but standard works (which are pufc on the atage with every attention fco detail),and still they fail to draw orowded houses. "Jeanie Dsans" was chosen last night for the especial benefit of oiar North Country citizens, and Miss Juno, as the faithful, trueHhearted heroine, acted with such tenderness and feeling that at times drew tears frjoni the eyes of the audience. Mr 0. H. Taylor struck oat a uew line last night, and appeared as the Laird o' Dumbeidykes, a character which he completely identU fied himself with, his entry being always the signal for merriment. The part of Madge "Wildfire was given to Miss Carrington, and it could not uave baen, entrusted to better haada, berreadiug anl description of the character being perfect. Miss Nellie Edwards gave a very good representation of Eflie Deans, and the same may likewise be siid of Mr Forbes's Darld Deana. Tin part of Geordie Bobertson, the outlaw, was undertaken by Mr J. H. Nunn, who made the most of it. The remain ier of the draivatis .personal were all well up in their parts, and showed to advan* tage. " Areau^na-Pogue " is underlined for to-night, and we advise playgoers not to miss saeing if,. |
