FEATHERSTON
FIRE BRIGADE MEETING DELEGATE TO CONFERENCE APPOINTED. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Featherston Volunteer Fire Brigade held last evening, the secretary, Mr J. W. Holland, was appointed delegate to attend the United Fire Brigades’ Association’s 65th annual conference at Westport in March next.
SERVICES CLUB EUCHRE PARTY LAST NIGHT. There was a large attendance at the euchre party held in the Services Club last night. The prize-winners were: Mrs McKenna, 1; Mr Cross, 2. Mr M. B. Tait won a competition. Personal Items, Misses R. Chard and 1. Shaw, Cambridge, have been the guests of Mrs G. Lowell, Hayward Street. Mr J. G, McKenzie is paying a brief visit to Christchurch. Miss Flora Donald, Revans Street, is the guest of Mrs J. A. Doctor, Wellington. Euchre Party and Dance., The Kaiwaiwai Hall Committee Will hold a euchre party and dance on Monday, February 14, for which good prizes will be given. Udy’s Orchestra will supply the music. COSY THEATRE “HIT THE ICE.” Noted for its excellent programmes the Cosy Theatre will tonight present “Hit the Ice,” one of the best comedies ever brought to the screen, and in which Bud Abbott and Lou Costello are at their best. There is a splendid series of supporting pictures.
