ANOTHER APPEAL
FOR CARE AND ECONOMY IN USE OF HOSES RULES THAT MUST BE OBSERVED. AS ALTERNATIVE TO DRASTIC RESTRICTIONS. Owing to the continued dry weather the borough water supply is now becoming overtaxed and an appeal is made to all users to restrict the use of hoses as much as possible otherwise hosing restrictions will have to be imposed. ( The present supply is adequate for all Igeitimate purposes, but unfortunately many abuses such as (1) hosing of lawns, (2) allowing water to run to waste over footpaths, and (3) leaving hoses on during the night have been reported to borough officials, and these abuses are largely responsible for the present drain on the supply. Unless these abuses are stopped the Borough Council will be compelled to enforce drastic restrictions. An appeal is made to all users to observe the following rules:— (a) Don’t use hose on lawns. (b) Don’t allow water to run to waste. (c) Don’t forget to turn off all hoses at 8 p.m.
