GREYTOWN
TRUST LANDS TRUST GRANTS FOR ENSUING YEAR. (“Times-Age” Special.) At a meeting of the Greytown Trust Lands Trust the following grants were made for the ensuing year: Greytown Girl Guides £5, Grey town Boy Scouts £5, Greytown Plunket Society £l5, Grey town Fire Brigade £25. Greytown School Committee £65, Grey town Library £6O, Soldiers’ Memorial Park £25; total £2OO. The chairman, Mr F. Dennes, stated that for many years the grants had been passed and in many instances no report as to how the money was expended was ever received by the trustees from the institutions concerned. The trust should know in what manner the grants were expended. The other members of the trust agreed with the remarks of the chairman. After further discussion it was decided that in future the grants be reviewed each year and be subject to a reduction or an increase as circumstances warranted. Grants were made this year to the Boys .Scouts and Girl Guides in recognition of the excellent work done by these organisations. GREYTOWN HOSPITAL INSPECTION OF UNUSED LAND. It was decided at today’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board, to inspect a section at the Greytown Hospital, now overgrown with broom, to see what could be done with the area, with a minimum of labour. Personal. Sgt. Pilot W. J. Smith and Mrs Smith are the guests of Mrs W. Smith, Humphrey Street. TOWN HALL DOUBLE PROGRAMME. The programme at the Town Hall tomorrow night will be headed by two excellent pictures. "Gone With the Wind Up” is one of the funniest pictures ever brought to the screen and is certainly the Crazy Gang’s best effort to date. The other presentation, “Melody and Moonlight,” is a delightful offering, featuring Johnny Downes and Barbara Allen.
