EUCHRE PARTY PATRIOTIC EFFORT. There was a small attendance at the patriotic euchre party yesterday owing to the wet weather. Mrs Watson won the prize at cards. Competitions were Avon by Mrs Shepherd and Miss K. Rowles. Donations were received from Mesdames Sharp and McKenna. Personal Items, Miss Card is indisposed and will be confined to her room for a few days. The funeral of the late Mrs Elspeth G. Pulford took place at the Featherston Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The services at the house and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. J. McGill (Martinborough). The pall-bearers were Messrs A. S. G. Pulford, W. Jeffrey, T. Tidswell, W. Boston, F. Smith and C. Jury. The late Mrs'Pulford had resided in Featherston for the past 24 years. Her husband predeceased her about fourteen years ago. The late Mrs Pulford leaves a family of three, Mrs E. Hendle (Palmerston North), Messrs A. S. G. Pulford (Masterton), and V. E. Pulford (Featherston). Among the many beautiful wreaths was one from the Featherston Fire Brigade. Miniature Rifle Club. The annual meeting of the Featherston Miniature Rifle Club will be held in the Odd Fellows’ Hall on Thursday next at 7.30 p.m. In the present war situation everybody should learn to shoot and instruction in miniature rifle shooting is of considerable importance. In the circumstances local ■ residents should associate themselves with the local miniature rifle club and attend the annual meeting. COSY THEATRE "SANTE FE TRAIL.” Tomorrow afternoon and evening there will be shown the brilliant drama of adventure, “Sante Fe Trail,” featuring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Haviland. •
