OBITUARY
MR H. C. THOMSEN. The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital this morning of Mr Hans Carl Thomsen, of Norfolk Road, Masterton. The late Mr Thomsen, who was 87 years of age, was born in Norway and arrived in New Zealand when 26 years old. He had resided most of his life in the Masterton district where he engaged in farming. He was a well read man and was a frequent contributor to the press on international questions. His wife predeceased him some years ago. He leaves two daughters (Mesdames Bradford, West Bush Road, Masterton, and Wallis, Wellington). The funeral will leave the Chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service on Monday, following a service at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
