LONGBUSH

FAREWELL GATHERING PRESENTATION TO MRS McLEAN. (“Times-Age” Special.) On a recent evening the settlers of Longbush paid a surprise visit to the residence of Mrs j. A. McLean, prior to her departure to reside in Masterton. In making a presentation of a crystal salad bowl and servers to Mrs McLean, Mr R. Palmer referred to the high esteem in which she was held and expressed the regret of the settlers of the district that she was leaving. Mr A. C. Gawith spoke in a similar strain and on behalf of the district he welcomed Mrs Hamish McLean, whose future home would be at “Glen Cumbrae.” Musical honours were accorded to Mrs J. A. McLean. On behalf of his wife and mother, Mr Hamish McLean suitably returned thanks.
